With the coming of the spearship design, the swordship was almost going to be set as a last rate, obsolete design. Updating of technologies, software, rearrangements and modifications to the hull and compound armoring breathed new life into this venerable halcyon space craft.
Essentially, the swordship is now designed as a second / third line warship, or artillery ship. It's modular, hard point oriented design allows it to mount a wide variety of weapons for different purposes, as well as modules.
The variant shown is the "linebacker" variant, featuring the two dimensional tear beamers on the side, two < pulsed particle projection / medium pulse lasers > turrets, and a tachyon projection beamer in the artillery slot.
The swordships feature an excellent mobility and speed, and are a liveable, relatively self sufficient and adaptable design.

TL;DR:
PPC artillery, pulse lasers and autoPPCs on turrets, and high velocity micro fusion missile sidewinders on sides. Potential Dimensional Tear beamers or heavy beamers on wings.
DT beamers rotate particles into 2D space and projects it towards target. Particles cannot co exist into 2D space and as such are destroyed. DT are very rarely mounted.

Did I ever say how cool it sounds to my imagination to watch these ships literally cut through another? If it can that is heh, nicely detailed overall though, nice to know whats on the inside now.
